Whoa it has been a while, but I am back and with a delicious restart, Boston Cream Pie.
Boston Cream Pie is one of my wife's favorite desserts. Yesterday I thought I would give it a try.
This cake/pie is a all day affair. It takes almost four hours to make the filling and forty five to fifty minutes to bake the cake, which was a box mix, shameful I know.
The pastry filling is made of egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch tempered with simmering milk. The topping is basically a chocolate ganache.
The Boston Cream Pie was a very moist and tasty treat. The filling, I thought could have been a smudge sweeter, so more sugar and vanilla next round.
